There are not enough words to express the gratitude my family and I feel toward Nathan, Coach Paul and all the staff at Rowton Tennis Center. About four years ago, my daughter picked up a tennis racket for the first time at the age of 14. She instantly loved the sport and set a goal for herself-to play college tennis. We searched for a coach to begin her lessons and that is when we found Rowton Tennis Center. We began the four hour round trip to receive lessons. We have been so pleased with the instruction our daughter received while we were there. Well, thanks to Nathan our daughter's dream became a reality and just yesterday, she won her first college singles tennis match! She could not have done that without the help of Nathan and everyone at Rowton Tennis Center. Thank you all so much! You are the best! And we miss you all!!

Paul Rowton is the father of tennis for Paducah. Paul got me interested in tennis. If it wasn't for Paul Rowton I wouldn't be teaching tennis today. I use many of Paul's teaching techniques to teach my students today and bring his name up quite often. I came to Paul many times to ask his opinion in the decisions of Jackie Trail's phenomenal junior career and ranked 160 WTA at the age of 16. Paul strung Jackie's racquets in which Jackie couldn't play with another string job for years. I will always appreciate Paul showing me attention when I myself was a junior player playing in the old Paducah Sun juunior tournament held at Barkley Park. Paul's attention to me inspired me to pursue my tennis to as high as I could get it. I will always be in deep gratitude to Paul Rowton who is the greatest tennis teacher on earth.

Words can't express how my family feels about the "Rowton Tennis Center" family. I play and so does my granddaughter, Madeline. The staff is friendly, helpful, and work diligently to schedule that next lesson or match around our busy schedule. Paul and Nathan are like fathers-they encourage Madeline's tennis while supporting her emotional and physical well being. Nathan is her coach, mentor, and silent partner. His coaching skills have taken Madeline from a novice player to one that competes successfully on the state level. When Nathan can come to a match he encourges and points our her strengths (win or lose). He is her worst critic during lessons, but always positive and supportive. Madeline will text Nathan afer every USTA match with the results, but ofen he already knows the score and reaches her first with his words of wisdom.------You are only as good as your second serve (or your coach)!

We ,the McKamey family, have gone to the Rowton's website to give our personal endorsement for anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of tennis.  Rowton's Indoor Tennis Center is the place to be or go.

Our daughter, Allison Michelle McKamey has been ranked #1 in the 10s for most of the past three years.  She has won the Joe Creason State Closed for the past two years in both singles and (with  great partners )also the doubles.  As a result, she has qualified for the Southern Closed the past two years.  This year Michelle was fortunate enough to play well and to finish fifth in the Southern Closed Tournament with only one loss to the #1 seed  from Georgia 6-4, 6-4.

Michelle played in her first tournament at 8 years old and has won numerous tournaments since then.  She started playing at  the age of 5.

Michelle has had great coaching and a big part of that has come  from lessons and clinics at Rowton's.  First, Coach Paul Rowton is a great motivator. He is an encyclopedia of tennis and athletic skills knowledge, and his lessons are great for the beginner,as well as the advanced players trying to improve the small things.  Next, Coach Nathan Rowton is a former college tennis star and is a tireless worker. He is a master at teaching large groups in clinics and still through his drills and calling players to the side for one-on-one corrections,he's able to help them all improve their games.  When Coach Nathan Rowton has worked one-on-one with Michelle in a private lesson, she is motivated learning the  fundamentals.  For example, he made her aware of learning early preparation to get her racket back long before the ball gets to her.  Both coaches end clinics and lessons on a positive note and this is  invaluable.

I'll add, by telling you that even Coach Nathan's two oldest sons have gone out of their way to help our daughter in clinics, and Mrs. Paul Rowton at the desk treats all of us like we are a part of the family.

In closing, if you haven't signed up as a member or for clinics at Rowton's do yourself(no ,more importantly your child) a favor and sign up now.  It's a gift of a lifetime!!!

Thank You,
Roy and Sherry McKamey

Comments My daughter Hadley and I were having a talk one night in which I told her she had to do something active and she said, "If I have to do something active you should have to do something active." OUCH! At this point we decided we would both take tennis lessons. She started a clinic and I gathered a group of friends together to start my active activity. I have never done any kind of sport and yet Paul has been very patient with me constantly reminding me with much kindness to "use the strings". I just love being there even if I have had a bad day I can go there and hit balls and feel 10 times better. As for my 6-year old Hadley, she is learning so much. We tried a different clinic in town and she quickly told me that she wanted to go back to Paul. My youngest daughter is 19 months and can't wait to get on the court. She stands at the door and cries during Hadley's lessons. Paul gave her a small racquet and some tennis balls one day and she got them out the other night and she muttered in what sounds she can get out now,
